Linear function

• A linear function can refer to two different concepts:
  • A polynomial function of degree one or less.
    • (univariate) $f(x)=ax+b$
    • (multivariate) $f(x_1,\dots ,x_k)=a_1{x}_1+\cdots +a_k{x}_k+b$
  • Linear Transformations
